Pero ang lahat ng kasiyahang iyan ay hindi mangyayari kung walang tulungan at pagkakaisang naganap. So
to add a touch of drama to our otherwise puro halakhakan moments together, special thanks need be mentioned for the fwg:
To those that braved the extremely heavy traffic brought about by the rains that fell at around
4PM, thank you for making the extra effort to come kahit nakakainis yang wrong-timing na traffic na yan
To the "new faces" like Ted Costales, Bong Pinon, Danny Poblete, Cris dela Cruz, Seth Pangan,
Vit Carpio, the gorgeous Beth Mendiola-Gica, the foxy Rubylyn Vitug-Halili, etc.
Kay Ted Costales, na napaka-aga dumating (nauna pa sa akin) and who helped me out in setting up my
laptop, lcd projector and sa pagmamamando sa mga waiters ng METRO PHI Bar, but more importantly for providing all the kwentos
and the laughs while waiting for the others to come.
Kay Teddy dela Costa, who took on the role of being the "unofficial treasurer" collecting the 500
cover charge for the night and distributing the name tags...as well as the drinks, and also sa palaging pagsasabing "easy
ka lang Leebai, relax ka lang..."
To Ruth Ora-Dacanay, for the cakes she brought that served as raffle prizes for the night. 4 happy
winners that night!
To Obet Mesa for bringing wine...AGAIN...na tinumba ng napakaaga ng mga tao dun sa pinakamaingay
na mesa (alin kayang mesa iyun? ang iingay lahat eh)
To Tombet for bring 2 litres of tequila...Im afraid to ask kung sino-sino ang tumumba nun or
ang itinumba nung tequila na yun
To Annabel Villanueva & Teddy dela Costa for being good sports as we reminisced about "life &
love, Circa 78." Muntik na tuloy kaming napakanta ng "reunited, and it feels so good. Reunited, cos we understood...."
Kung napaaga lang ng konti dumating si Bing Molano, siguradong nakanta na ito...
To Bing Molano, for the free concert he once again provided for Kamustahan, Part 2. I will never
forget how powerful your falsetto is. Kulang na lang na mag-duet kang mag-isa ng girl&boy na kanta. Ganyan kalawak ang
range ng boses mo. Pwede bang mag-request ng all-time favorite niyo nung highschool...yung kantang "Pippin"
To Bong Pinon, the ex-glee club member, for giving Bing Molano a run for his money pagdating
sa pag-so-solo concert with matching choreography to boot!
To the sexy duo of Hermie P & Susie A for helping out in the collections (nagmamadali tuloy ang
mga boys sa pagbibigay) of the pledges and the monetary commitments for the night
To Jovi Valencia for acting as the unofficial photographer for our "Then & Now" egroups album
(which we shall be posting soon) na kahit panay na ang text niya sa asawa niya ng "Kunyari tawagan mo ako dito para makauwi
na ako" ay hindi pa rin agad umalis ng maaga.
To Joey Sarmiento, for the extremely bright ideas re projects & activities of Batch 78, as well
as the solid commitment to help out especially in getting corporate sponsorships for our planed activities/projects
To Seth Pangan for the commitment to assist USTHS Batch 78 and use his expertise as board member
of the UST Eng'g Alumni Association and support our activities/projects
To Judge Cariring Walse for the suggestions on USTHS Batch 78 projects/acitivities (i.e. medical
mission)
To Albert Magno for dragging me outside for a smoke (bakit, mukha ba akong nangangailangan na ng
oxygen?), but more importantly for the heartfelt rendition of Ariel Rivera's "Sana Kahit Minsan" na papikit-pikit pa ng mata.
Sino ba ang "Gelli de Belen" mo nung gabing iyon?
To Lito Martinez for the todo bigay na suporta sa mga gustong sumayaw at kumanta na 78ers at minsan
ay pinangungunahan niya pa ang mga ito sa mikropono
To Ariel Robeniol for showing everybody that 78ers are non-arthritic and kayang kaya pang mag-medley
ng ballroom dance steps ng swing, boogie, cha-cha, etc.
To Bernie Lavares for the many songs that he rendered na naubos tuloy ang battery nung wireless mic.
To the walang kupas na kambal, Rina & Lisa, for the many encores dahil ayaw tantanan ng requests
for more and more songs!
And to all of you who sent me text messages thanking me for my part in keeping the fire of kinship
burning for Batch 78, THANK YOU for recognizing the hardships. Its not always easy but it is most gratifying to see that the
bonds of friendship is obviously in our midst. And with this we can work together towards some more meaningful endeavors that
will give honor to the association that is Batch 78. And I once again pose this invitation to those who wish to actively participate
in spearheading our projects/activities: please feel free to let us know.
Kung ako man ay may nalimutang pasalamatan (pero wala na dapat dahil sa unang linya ko pa lang ay
pinasalamatan ko na tayong lahat), i will shield myself behind the excuse of 'senior citizen moments' dahil hindi naman tayo
nag-serve ng Sustagen Premium nung gabing iyun.
Ive just uploaded the photographs that came from my camera. The solo shots will be included in the
NOW album, while the groups shots will be in the KAMUSTAHAN 2 Album.
