Hello Everyone!
Tiny Tinay here...finally!!! I apologize for reporting on our
meeting so late. I have been busy with school this past week. So
sorry... ;-)
Anyway, the Batch '78 US Group Reunion Committee met on August 25th
at Daisy Delgado-Vergara's place in Bellflower, CA. Annie San Diego
graciously flew in from Reno to attend...Wow! Way to go, Annie!!!
Another new attendee was Janet De Castro-Narag. Thank you for
coming also! We hope you can come back for future meetings!
The usual attendees (Tito Val, Daisy, Margie T., Helen P., Babette,
Mike M., Reynald, and myself) were there except Jackie Palma-Soriano
who was MIA. We are still giving her a hard time about it, and will
be for a loooong time!!! lol Lagot ka...Jackie!
The meeting went very smoothly. Helen was very organized as
usual...kudos, Helen! Margie facilitated the meeting as well.
Thanks, mare! Helen will be posting the minutes soon so that
everyone can be updated with the Reunion details that have been
voted on by the group. We had fun in voting for the theme. It was
a close tie! We had to involve a third party to break the tie.
Thank you Rachel Tolentino for picking the tie-breaker! And the
theme is.....HAWAIIAN LUAU!!! So Batch '78 ladies...get your grass
skirts ready! Batch '78 Guys...your G-strings? Hahaha.... Wow! That
will be a sight to see! Aloha!!
Of course, Margie Galang called in and spoke to everyone as usual.
It wouldn't be complete without her call. Thanks Margie!!! Nice
talking to you again!
After the meeting ended, we finally dug into the food!
MMMMMMmmmmm...SARAP! Reynald brought his famous turon, and Daisy
made scrumptious biko. I believe Helen was responsible for the yummy
Ube Halaya. I'm not sure who brought the two kinds of pancit and the
rest of the food, but they were MAGNIFICO!!!! I gained 5lbs just
looking at them...I really didn't need it, thank you very much! Now
I have to work harder at the gym!!!! (Simangot si Tinay!)
(Smile again)
As usual, we had a blast taking pictures and just catching up with
each other. And as usual, my eyes did not cooperate to stay open
during picture-taking! lol! Helen brought a delicious Red Ribbon
cake for the three of us who were August celebrants: myself, Margie,
and Annie. They made us feed each other just like in a wedding
ceremony...Dyahe! It's good no one tried to be funny and smashed it
into each other's face! Although that would have been fun! Thank
you, Helen! Happy Birthday to us...again!
Big news! Our lovely Babette just became a grandma...even though she
looks like she would have been the one to have just had a baby
herself because of her babyface!!! Congrats, Babette! Her grand-
baby is sooooo cute! Kurot-kurot sa pisngi!
Towards the end...I decided to tell my warstories about teaching
American high school kids...and I think everyone had a good time
listening. They were laughing so hard it's fortunate Daisy's house
remained nice-smelling! If you guys know what I mean...hahahaha!
I was the first one to leave as I had a previous appointment...ehem!
Okay...okay...I had a date...there! For the inquiring minds who
want to know...it went very well! Nothing serious...just friends!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! LOL!
Our next meeting was supposed to be on September 29th, but there's a
little question about that; it might be changed to early October.
Helen will be sending the e-vite as soon as the date gets finalized.
Well...chika again after the next meeting. That's all....folks!!!
