UPDATE: Margie called Blast From The Past (BFTP) and verified that the photographers picture is not free
but will be sold there. They will also provide list of hotels with reasonable
rates, since we do not have to use the hotel where we will be holding the event for accommodations. Also, a 10% discount for airfare (SouthWest Airlines) is available.
They have informed Margie that April 26 is still available and will make arrangements with Monte Carlo,
the Hotel where we will be holding the grand reunion. The good news is that there
is no minimum to meet, as long as it is a sit down dinner. For buffet, however,
they require a 75-person minimum.
NOTE: The decision for Las Vegas was based on the majority
committee votes.
Lito will send email to our fellow US based batch mates to get a survey of whether or not they are going
to attend our Grand Reunion in Las Vegas. Lina, on the other hand, will get the
addresses from our batch mates and BFTP will send the invitations out. Lina will
use a generic email address (that Reynald created) to gather addresses, phone #, etc. Helen keeps current database.
The price of the ticket is $100 per person. Details of ticket
purchases will be announced later.
Tibo will start the ad once he knows when and where the reunion will take place. The contact persons are: Margie, Helen and Reynald, these
people will be contacted via email or telephone. Please inform Tibo which phone
(cell, home or work) to be used on the ad.
We discussed having raffle ticket (store gift certificate worth $25) which will be shouldered by the
members of the Planning Committee and to give everyone a picture frame (made in Philippines) as a remembrance of the event.
*All expenses/reimbursements will be coming from raffle tickets sold.
Lito and Margie will prepare a montage, collection of before and after pictures. We will use the pictures from our Veritas and ask each alumnus to send in either a family or solo picture
(whichever they prefer).
Aped Santos the Vice-President of Batch 77 Alumni, referred Margie to contact the Coordinator of their
US based Batch 77, who has the list of all teachers who now reside in the US, so we can extend the invitation to them. She already contacted Vernon Tabirara (Webmaster for USTHSBatch 79), who gave his
support for this big event. Speaking of website, Reynald created an official
USTHS78 website which also links to the Philippine USTHS78 website and the UST school website.
Our website address is: USTHS78USA.TRIPOD.COM
We encourage everyone to check it out and submit suggestions. As for
the link on Eden Tagles website, we will have to discuss that in our next meeting whether to keep it as well or not.
Next meeting will be on October 6th @ 2:00 pm, Tibo and Lina Santos residence. Incidentally, Wattie Reyes-Molina and Manny Wright will be there so join na ulit kayo for first-hand updates
from the Philippines.
NOTE: Please confirm whether or not you would like to be
part of the Planning Committee since we anticipate having more meetings on a regular basis (every other month or as needed). This is all voluntary. Thank you
for all your cooperation.
